Position Title: Marketing Manager

PURPOSETo increase awareness of Minnetrista, grow attendance, and increase institutional revenue through successful marketing strategies.  Success will include innovative marketing campaigns and forward thinking approaches with the community and participants.  Serve as an advocate for the organization and build relationships with the media and the public.

QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must have a bachelor degree in marketing, journalism, public relations or related field with 3-5 years experience in a marketing team capacity. Must demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a team. Direct experience managing a marketing team is preferred.  Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required. Must enjoy personally interacting with media representatives and members of our public Must be able to work well in a cross functional team environment. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines is necessary. Must be able to adapt writing style to a variety of media formats.  Knowledge of online media is necessary. This position requires creativity, flexibility, and the ability to work well under pressure. A valid driver's license is required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain awareness and understanding of museum marketing trends in order to make strategic decisions related to institutional marketing.
  • Develop and implement an institutional brand strategy and related budgets.
  • Develop measurement techniques to evaluate marketing initiatives.
  • Serve as the organization's main contact for local and regional media to promote public awareness of the organization's mission, programs and events.  Develop media relationships and maintain up-to-date media contacts.
  • Maintain data on current and potential market for use in the development of marketing strategies and plans.
  • Participate in planning teams supporting exhibits, events and special projects.
  • Provide supervision and support to marketing team: Web Editor responsibilities of the IT Coordinator, Graphic Designer, and Senior Copywriter.
  • Manage the on-site and off-site promotion of Minnetrista and related events, exhibits, and programs
  • Manage digital photo and video assets.
  • Supervise, and support interns in the marketing department. 
  • Perform all other duties as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Typical workstation office environment with computer equipment, fax machine and files and shelves overhead and above work surface. Must be able to move easily around Minnetrista's 40-acre campus.
