Our Hidden Gem: The Nature Area at Minnetrista

Have you ever desired a place where you could relax and free your mind? A site to see stormwater management in the works? A place to enjoy nature without leaving Muncie? Did you know that we have that very spot, right here at Minnetrista? We like to call it our hidden gem, The Nature Area.

The Nature Area at Minnetrista sits at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Minnetrista Parkway. The property is reclaimed land that was at one point a gravel pit that was later developed. This is now a place for Muncie locals and visitors to enjoy three Indiana habitats; tall grass prairie, deciduous forest, and fresh water wetlands.

Equipped with walkable trails, private reading nooks, and even picnic benches, The Nature Area has something to offer everyone! It is utilized by museum visitors, Pokémon go-ers, bird watchers and nature enthusiasts, school groups, some special Minnetrista events such as the upcoming After Hours, and much more.

So, the next time you are looking to get away or just a fun adventure. Come check out The Nature Area at Minnetrista!
