12-16 weeks. This is flexible based upon the student’s schedule

Essential duties and responsibilities
The Technical Intern will be immersed in the behind the scenes work involved in exhibitions (development, installation and maintenance) and programs and event technology at Minnetrista. The intern will also provide support in the woodshop when needed to complete tasks. Weekly exhibit maintenance checks (lights bulbs, inter-activities, etc.) And other duties may be assigned. An overall project involving woodshop management, exhibits management, element creation, or materials and processes will be provided based on intern interest.
The ideal candidate will have a background or interest in museum studies, technical theatre, and /or project management, with carpentry or woodworking preferred. Candidate must be organized and creative, as well as have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Internet Explorer. Must be willing to learn new skills and work in a team setting. Must be able to lift 20 lbs, able to use basic tools and have flexible hours. Candidate MUST be 18 years or older.
The work environment is primarily in the woodshop and associated galleries, but the candidate must be able to move about the entire Minnetrista 40-acre campus. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
