Ways to Volunteer:

The Orchard Shop at Minnetrista provide many opportunities for volunteers to create themed displays, or tap into your customer service skills. Additionally, Saturdays in September–December are a great time for seasonal volunteers to help with the consumer demand for our fresh cider!

Do you enjoy working with children and having fun? If so, head on over to Minnetrista and discover many of our exciting volunteer opportunities during school breaks! It’s here that volunteers can participate and help in a wide variety of unique workshops, ranging from arts & crafts and jewelry making, to cooking, nature, and games.

Gardens/Natural Areas

Do you enjoy working outdoors? Work alongside our resident gardeners and other volunteers with hands-on projects. You may work in one designated garden, or come as needed to help with large planting projects or other outdoor opportunities.

Orchard Garden

Are you interested in urban gardens or small space gardening of edible plants? Then come join us in maintaining our urban garden demonstration area by planting, weeding and harvesting.

Programs/Special Events

Create meaningful experiences for visitors during events such as Family Adventure Days, Enchanted Luminaria, Garden Fair, Summer Stage Fest, or Faeries, Sprites and Lights.

It’s all about the details. Do you enjoy history and heritage? Minnetrista’s Collections department welcomes you to help preserve the heritage of East Central Indiana through basic collections care techniques for objects and archival materials. Project integration may be tailored to a volunteer’s interests. Volunteers in this area are directly supervised by the Collections Department staff during weekday hours.

Specific Skills

Do you have a knack for woodworking? Minnetrista houses a fully equipped wood shop and is always welcoming volunteers to help build exhibits or fulfill other hand created demands. Do you enjoy painting, welding or have other specific skills you would like to contribute to Minnetrista? We have many one-of-a-kind projects where specialized talents of others enhance the Minnetrista experience.
