Minnetrista is your year-round gathering place!

We maintain a spacious forty-acre campus which is open to the public and includes beautiful gardens, our Nature Area, a modern museum facility, historic homes, children’s play areas, and a portion of the White River Greenway. Throughout the year our roster of educational programs, engaging workshops, community events, and interactive exhibits are consistently rotating and changing. There is something new to experience on every visit.

Our reach is broad and our interests as an organization are as varied as the community we serve. In everything we do, we hold our values central: connecting people, encouraging engagement, and improving our community.

Learn at Minnetrista

Minnetrista provides outlets for educational growth for all ages. We are the original home of the Ball jar, and we carry on the rich tradition of glassmaking by offering both children’s and adult’s Glass Workshops with trained experts.

Throughout the year we host a variety of interactive galleries that will appeal to all ages, and our Oakhurst Experience exhibit gives visitors an inside look at the history of the George and Frances Ball family through the eyes of their daughter, Betty.

Play at Minnetrista

Children will have endless fun in our [Backyard Garden] play area and their imaginations will run wild in Betty’s Cabin. In addition to our interactive galleries, the central building has additional play stations for kids including the Imagination Playground, Art Maker Space, and the Clubhouse!

And we know that children aren’t the only ones who need space to play! Our After Hours events are 21 and over gatherings, opportunities for friends to come together for food, drink, and entertainment.

Explore at Minnetrista

Our forty-acre campus is covered in gardens, each with its own special character and floral spread. The Nature Area at Minnetrista features three representations of Indiana native habitats: a tall grass prairie, a man-made pond with water naturally filtered by a series of swales, and a woodland area which features more than nine varieties of Indiana trees.
