Looking Forward: A Message from Brian Statz

“Greetings! My name is Brian Statz, and I am the new President & CEO of Minnetrista Museum & Gardens. I started in January, and I am excited to be here! Minnetrista has such a unique combination of art, history, and beautiful gardens and grounds, with many exhibits and programs available to the community.

I worked for The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis for 15 years, primarily in the role of Vice President of Operation. There, I discovered the important role that museums can play in the life of a community. During my first year at Minnetrista, I will be hard at work meeting as many people as I can to let them know they are invited and welcome at Minnetrista, a place where everyone can enjoy the beauty of our campus and spend memorable moments with family and friends. At the same time, our staff will be busy developing new exhibits and programs – and improving upon the long-time exhibits and programs that the community has grown to love – to provide a most enjoyable experience.

I am interested to hear what you think of Minnetrista – what you like, anything you would change, and any suggestions you have. I hope to hear from you!”

- Brian Statz, President & CEO Minnetrista Museum & Gardens

As Brian said, Minnetrista is focused on developing and improving our offerings. Looking forward, it’s bound to be an exciting year for our community with educational programs and workshops, interactive exhibits, signature events, and more!

We’re proud to bring Girlhood: It’s Complicated, to Minnetrista in June. This exhibit is created by the National Museum of American History and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, and we’re the first stop on its national tour. In this enlightening exhibit, you’ll explore the diversity of girls' experiences and how girls have changed American history. Check out all of our upcoming exhibits here.

In addition to incredible exhibits, we’re looking forward to this year’s signature events, including the Garden Fair, Fourth of July Celebration, Faeries, Sprites, & Lights, Enchanted Luminaria Walk, and Farmers Market! We’re always excited to bring these back to our community, and this year will be better than ever. You can also enjoy our permanent experiences like the Bob Ross Experience, Oakhurst Experience, and Betty’s Cabin year-round.

We appreciate the tremendous support from our community during this transition. We're thrilled to continue under Brian’s leadership and look forward to creating the best visitor experience for you!
