You Belong Here: A Message from Minnetrista's Staff

What does Minnetrista mean to you? For many people, Minnetrista is a space where they come to learn, relax and enjoy nature, find entertainment, and celebrate with their families. While you're walking through the gardens or watching a theatre performance at Faeries, Sprites, & Lights, you don't always think about the people who choose the flowers, maintain the garden, take your tickets, or direct the show, but this is where the heart of Minnetrista lies. Our employees make Minnetrista what it is and make your experience happen! They're made up of enthusiasts who are eager to share their love of art, culture, and community with visitors. As we continue to grow, we're looking to hire more people who share our passion for creating a welcoming and enriching experience for all visitors. Who better to tell you about what it’s like to work at Minnetrista than the employees who make these experiences happen?

Grounds Manager

“There is so much variety to the work we do at Minnetrista because of the wide range of activities that happen here. My job includes not just groundskeeping and maintenance but also event planning, exhibit installations, and even making apple cider to sell in the Orchard Shop. Since we are a relatively small organization with lots of different specialties, I get to interact daily with coworkers who have diverse backgrounds and interests. Collaboration is a key part of our work culture, and successes are celebrated as a team effort where everyone’s contribution matters. The positive comments we get from the community help us to know that our work is meaningful to the people who visit our site. Minnetrista is a great place to grow as a professional. After nearly 18 years with the company, I still never lack fresh challenges to tackle.”

“I enjoy working at Minnetrista because I am viewed as a person first, not just a cog in a machine. We also have staff with such varied backgrounds that there is always something unique to learn from a coworker.”

Eric Lin

“It’s great to be part of the team at Minnetrista!  It’s motivating to work with a group of people who are knowledgeable about what they do and passionate about making Minnetrista the best it can be!”

Olaf, Jennifer, and Eric speak to our organization’s culture. We strive to create a supportive and collaborative workplace that empowers every member of our staff to grow and succeed. Collaboration and teamwork are essential to achieving our goals, so we foster a supportive and inclusive work culture where everyone's ideas, perspectives, and contributions are valued.  “I love working at Minnetrista because, in addition to its deep connections with Muncie history, it provides everyone in our community a place to spend time with family and friends (and dogs) to enjoy exhibits, works of art, and our gardens. If this sounds interesting to you, please consider applying for one of our open positions!”

Brian is Minnetrista’s President & CEO, and he’s right! We’re all about connections and creating a space for our community to gather! We have a 40-acre campus with beautiful gardens, historic buildings, exhibits, and a calendar full of educational and entertaining programs, workshops, and community events. As an employee, you’ll experience that every day. We love that our campus is a source of inspiration for our visitors and employees!
