From 1983 until 1994 “The Joy of Painting” was produced in Muncie, Indiana. During those years the community embraced Bob Ross. In turn, Bob came to adore Muncie and the East Central Indiana region. The television artist owned a home in the community, and quickly found himself surrounded by friends. Without a doubt, Muncie was more than just a place for Bob to work; it was also a home.
This special exhibit brings together paintings, memories, and rare historic photographs from Bob’s friends and the Minnetrista Heritage Collection. Twenty-nine paintings are featured, including 21 original Ross paintings-many of which have never been on public display. This is a one-of-a-kind experience that shares a deeper look at Bob’s life and work during his many years in Muncie. You don’t want to miss it!
