Free Community Event

Human service providers are continually dedicated to bettering the lives of our friends and neighbors in need, and to show our appreciation for their challenging work, the Delaware County Client Consultation Board has coordinated with Minnetrista to organize an event honoring those working in the human services field in our community. The Unsung Hero Event will be held on April 20, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at Minnetrista.

 The COVID-19 Pandemic has created unique challenges for those working in the human services field. Workers have had to find new ways to meet the needs of their clients due to services being shut down among other new service limitations associated with the pandemic environment.  As a result of the increased demands, many human service workers left the field, which put an immense strain on those who remained. 

 To show our appreciation, the community would like to invite these outstanding individuals to an event where we can honor their sacrifices and dedication to helping others. The event will be an opportunity to learn about the services offered by community partners and a chance to network with other peers in the field. Four peer-nominated local community members will also be formally recognized as Unsung Heros at the event. All in attendance will be offered the chance at a variety of door prizes and treated to a meal provided by Pizza King and Minnetrista. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend FIX: Heartbreak and Hope Inside Our Opioid Crisis, an exhibit about the opioid crisis, before it closes on May 1st. We look forward to seeing you on April 20th from 6-8 p.m. at Minnetrista.”
