Continue your bird exploration by visiting Betty’s Cabin on June 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for an enriching day of bird-themed activities designed for nature enthusiasts. Betty’s Cabin is a great way for families to build long-lasting memories together. Stocked with games, toys, arts, and crafts, the Cabin encourages connections between children and their adult caregivers. Craft your own pinecone bird feeder and learn more about the birds you can see in your backyard with our comprehensive field guides and use our binoculars to spot feathered friends in their natural habitat. The items in the cabin change often, so be sure to stop in on June 8 to experience the aviary activities. After your avian exploration, embark on a family-friendly bird walk through Oakhurst Gardens. Scheduled at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., these guided walks offer a wonderful opportunity to discover even more feathered delights in the beautiful surroundings of Oakhurst Gardens.

For those seeking a more structured birdwatching experience, consider registering for Bird Walk: Prairies and Woodlands on May 18 from 10 to 11 a.m. or Bird Walk: River Corridors on June 8 from 6 to 7 p.m. During Bird Walk: Prairie and Woodlands, participants will explore the Nature Area, learning about and hopefully catching sight of the diverse bird species that inhabit and hunt in the prairies and woodlands of East Central Indiana! On the Bird Walk: River Corridor along Minnetrista Boulevard, visitors will have the chance to discover and observe the diverse bird species thriving in our waterways. Our knowledgeable guide will illuminate the significance of river corridors in supporting local wildlife and conservation initiatives. It's an opportunity not to be missed!
