Muncie, IN—Minnetrista Museum & Gardens is honored to announce that it has been nominated as a finalist for the 2024 Excellence in Public Service Award by the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. This prestigious award is presented to an individual, organization, or company that has made significant contributions to the well-being and quality of life in the greater Muncie area. The nomination reflects Minnetrista’s ongoing commitment to enriching the community and advancing its mission of fostering a love of learning through nature, art, and heritage.

In addition to the organizational nomination, two Minnetrista team members have been selected as finalists for the Young Professional of the Year Award. Hannah Bender, Experience Designer, and Austin Weiland, Lead Horticulture Specialist, are both being recognized for their outstanding contributions to the Muncie community. This award is presented to an individual under the age of 35 who has made significant impacts in the area.

Austin shared his thoughts on the recognition:

"I am incredibly honored to be considered for this award, but my main focus is the amazing work that has been done by all of the nominees. It is a privilege to be mentioned alongside a group of individuals who are so impactful in the community. I look forward to continuing my efforts and seeing what can be accomplished by the rest of the individuals nominated for this award."

Hannah reflected on her role at Minnetrista:

"My decision to work at Minnetrista was driven by the organization's dedication to community engagement and growth. I am passionate about my role as a designer and knowing that my passion can inspire other young professionals to pursue their careers is part of what fuels my efforts to create engaging spaces. I am proud to have been nominated for the Young Professional of the Year Award—it means these efforts are not only seen but appreciated."

We are deeply grateful for the recognition, as it not only acknowledges the impact of Minnetrista Museum & Gardens but also highlights the incredible work of Hannah and Austin. Their commitment, passion, and tireless efforts are vital to the success of our mission, and these nominations reflect their meaningful contributions to both Minnetrista and the greater community.

The Excellence in Public Service Award and Young Professional of the Year Award will be presented at the Chamber's 2024 Annual Meeting & Dinner, which will close the Chamber's 130th year of being the voice of business in Muncie and Delaware County. The event is scheduled for November 12, 2024, and will be a key celebration of the region's achievements.
